What human seeks?

Disclaimer: The following entity is more like a diary entry rather than a statement. I understand I can be wrong more times than the number of lines this entry has. This is just me thinking and writing, without any pre-decided notion or conclusion, that's all.
Kindly refrain from being offended; it's not my intention here. However, I'll be happy to sit around and discuss our minds over a cup of coffee.

People! They roam around what, I think. Attention? Money? Peace? Attention and money can't be the answer and simple maths will give you the answer. About peace, I'll say I'm not sure here. May be because peace or inner peace is achieved by dedication towards something, living it, like a dream: like social cause or something, something bigger than oneself. A goal can be a materialistic, the journey can't be. I guess they want peace, people, but are unaware of the definition of peace. They are seeking something else in the name of it.

Let's break it down to different stages of life. A child seeks her/his mother. The mother is her world, food, bed, playground, school, the entire universe. That calm face on that sleeping angel will tell you that whatever was been seeked, has been achieved. A teenager craves for attention and the sleep she earns after earning it is unparallel. It has a freshness, like a scented breeze or a garden high in mountains and yet is strong as a storm. That face has dreams, sparks and energy to light up an entire world.

A mature woman seeks the well being and happy times of her family, a significance in her work life, in health and in her overall presence. Bread together everyday over dining table and sharing whereabouts is all they look forward to. They want to sleep satisfactorily believing that they provided: bread and butter, facilities, health and happy times. That's what they look forward to every next day. And in the end, what does an old woman or an old man lying at her/his death bed seeks? This I'm sure by most. She/he want to look back in time and travel back to past days without any regrets. I'm sure she'd like her wrinkled face loaded with smile when the time comes. She/he knows about her/his time and want to lie down eventually in peace.

So, what I believe is that every human, as far as I get her/him, seeks a peaceful, light sleep. Be it a newly born or a century old soul-body combination. We eat, go out, dance and fight for everything and come back home for a sleep. Sleep like a baby who has no idea what lies beyond the lap of her/his parents.

Isn't that why we all have been born, only to sleep eventually?
